When I first launched beCAUSE minded back in November 2020, my neighbors, both 5th grade teachers, immediately said, “These would make great teacher appreciation gifts.” It was an interesting comment. Honestly, I’d been so focused on getting the site up so people could purchase our empowering gifts that I hadn’t really considered all of the possibilities for them! I had certainly thought about holiday gifts, branded business gifts, Mother’s Day gifts, but this one had been totally under the radar. Of course! These would be great teacher appreciation gifts!
In chatting with my neighbors further, they explained they genuinely appreciate every gift a child gets them; however, most are not personal or useful. They get a lot of food, which often doesn’t fit their diet. Other times they get some sort of generic something that, while appreciated, often doesn’t get used. But, when they saw these boxes, their faces lit up! They love that beCAUSE minded wellness boxes are so practical! Towels, soaps, coffee, tea, blankets, etc. They are high quality gifts they will use!
Based on this conversation, and a few since, I’ve drawn this conclusion: the key to great teacher appreciation gifts is that the gift must be high quality and practical. Overwhelmingly, teachers I spoke to said they’d rather have fewer high quality items than a thousand low-quality items. That makes sense to me. I feel the same way!
