Have you ever been at a meeting where everyone was racking their brains to find a solution and it was just going nowhere? That was the beCAUSE minded team back in 2020 trying to come up with names for each of our luxury corporate gift boxes. We’d thought about calling the boxes by various names: the Julia, the Michelle, the Monique, etc. But that’s been done before. How about going with numbers? Box One, Box Two, Box Three. This is how we named them in our prototype stage. But on a live website? Yawn. We were completely stuck. Then Jacquelyn had a breakthrough.
For those of you who don’t know Jacquelyn, she is our social media manager. But she also gets tasked with everything else graphics-related since she is the only one on the team who has any kind of eye for design aesthetic. She is always thinking about how graphics and verbiage connect with our customers and followers.
Jacquelyn very quietly said, “What if we use the ‘be’ from beCAUSE minded in the names? beRESTED, beMINDFUL, be…” And that was that. Everyone on the team enthusiastically supported this idea. And once we had a direction, the real fun began.
We’d designed each box with a specific feeling or idea. Take what was originally called “Box 8,” with the artisan mug, whole bean coffee, handcrafted pen, and hard-backed journal. When we created this box, we had envisioned someone starting their day off with a time of meditation, list-making, or goal-setting – starting their day of with intention, so the name beINTENTIONAL was an easy choice!
When we created “Box 16,” with the cream and gray Sherpa blanket, the chamomile tea, the lavender sprig candle, and the Divine Dreams essential roller, we were envisioning an evening of rest, a space to recharge. The name beRESTED fit perfectly.
The process of naming each box is so fun. It makes us truly reflect on the purpose of each of our personal and corporate gift boxes. Recently, we created a new gift box with a set of Pestemal towels, a pine soap dish, olive oil soap, and a set of lavender bath bombs. We asked ourselves what is this gift…really? Yes, it is a wonderful housewarming gift. Yes, it would be great for a Mother’s Day gift. But what is this gift really? What do we want the person who receives this gift to experience? We decided to call this one beUNPLUGGED. Honestly, the gift is not about any one item in the gift box. It’s about the experience of being away from your phone, away from your job, and away from your kids (all the parents out there feel us, right?). It’s about being unplugged and recharged. And who doesn’t need more of that these days?
We love the idea of being able to give someone the gift of rest, mindfulness, recovery, and radiance. And our beRESTED, beMINDFUL, beRECOVERED, and beRADIANT gift boxes are the perfect way to make these intangible gifts tangible!
